Check out the Island Players Theatre Display
The Island Library is featuring a fine display of Island Players memorabilia though the end of March. The items were collated and arranged by Island Players volunteer Jeanne Walther and Board Member Susan George.
The Island Players was among the non-profits honored by the AMI Chamber of Commerce Trolley Grant program.
Cathy Hansel-Edgerton, Island Players Board President, and Peggy Faarup, Box Office Manager, and a past president represented the theater at the awards reception on January 25th. The generous grant will be used to off-set the purchase cost of additional assisted listening loops available for those audience members who need listening assistance to fully enjoy live performances at the theatre. Patrons are invited to reserve a listening device while reserving their theatre tickets to assure availability.
This Trolley Grant is much appreciated by the Island Payers who strive to make theatre accessible either on-stage at the playhouse or through our Off Stage Actors program, which provides entertainment to Independent and Assisted Living venues throughout the Bradenton area.
Our first show of Season 75, Farce of Nature, has gone into the history books of Island Players: We've had a record number of Season Subscriptions sold and the biggest opening night of our 75 year history!
But... we couldn’t be more pleased about is What They’re Saying:
"Leaves you grinnin’ from ear to ear……..mosey on over to catch some belly laughs. I reckon, you’re gonna like this play."
- Brook Morrison, The Islander
"Farce of Nature… evolves into a laugh-a-minute solid comedy."
- Jason Schaffer, The AMI Sun
We've also enjoyed reading the comment cards from our audience! Keep 'em coming!
“A destination each vacation.”
“Love all the plays.”
“We love this theatre and all who keep it going.”
“Best entertainment around.”
“Always enjoyable”
A Porch and Garden Party preceded the Opening Performance of Island Players Farce of Nature. This is the first of a season of celebration as Island Players honors its 75th Anniversary. We thank all our patrons and volunteers for making this evening a record-breaking opening night success!
Island Player Board Member, Andrea Miller and Board President Cathy Hansel-Edgerton represented The Island Players on Sunday the 10th of September for the City of Anna Maria Centennial Event.
The winner of the Island Players raffle for two tickets to Farce of Nature was Michele Schenk. Congratulations Michele!
The Event was a success with great food and music. A nice tribute to the little City on the Island.
